Knee Chest Upper Cervical is an upper cervical technique that was created and utilized by our professions developer B.J. Palmer, D.C. Ph.C.

Dr. Maltby is highly trained in this technique and is constantly practicing and honing his skills to deliver the best possible adjustment and care he can to those who come to see him.

Upper Cervical care focuses on the delicate relationship between the top two bones in the spine and the function of the nervous system. The brain stem is directly above the first bone in the spine, and is the thoroughfare for all communication that travels from the brain to the body and back. By adjusting this critical area of the spine we are restoring balance to the nervous system and giving the body the freedom to heal and function optimally.

Veterbral Subluxation

Dr. Maltby adjusts the full spine as well. He utilizes the diversified technique, which is a technique that combines many different techniques to manipulate the spine. Along with hundreds of hours of instruction in school Dr. Maltby worked at his father's practice for three years, learning from a Master in the profession with over 46 years in practice. Dr. Maltby's father is a Palmer graduate who has lectured around the world teaching other Chiropractors as well as serving as the International Chiropractors Associations President for two terms and he is the past President of the World Federation of Chiropractic. Dr. Maltby is still in constant contact with his father, continuing learning and growing in his knowledge of Chiropractic and patient care.

It is important to remember that we do not utilize aggressive, rotational, or harsh adjustive techniques. We only use gentle, safe and specific chiropractic adjustments to restore and balance the nervous system and spinal structure of the body.

We understand that everyone is different and their bodies react and adapt differently to the adjustment. That is why Dr. Maltby also has the Impulse IQ Adjusting Instrument. Impulse iQ® has patented AutoSense® technology that senses when mobility is maximized, ceases the adjustment, then provides feedback of the patient’s response to the adjustment. It is a gentle accurate adjustment for those who need a lighter touch.

After every adjustment, you will relax in Human Touch's Zero Gravity Recliner. This allows the adjustment to hold properly. The last thing that we want you to do is to leave immediately after the adjustment and go right back to the natural stress of life, which could potentially put you right back out of alignment.

Inspired by the Neutral Body Posture studied by NASA during the SkyLab program, the Zero Gravity Recliner places the body in a virtually weightless position to provide relaxation and minimum muscle tension. In this therapist-recommended position, the spine, hips, and knee joints are on or close to the balanced midpoint of the muscles. The Zero Gravity Recliner provides a path to harmony between your body and gravity.
